In the heart of Puerto Vallarta lies a destination that defies comparison – Casa Kimberly – a luxurious love story.

The former homes of Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton combine to create nine suites, a spa, pool, open-air dining, tequila bar and the preserved Puente Del Amor (Bridge of Love). Lovers, artists and adventurers are invited to fall in love again.

Our Story
HISTORY BEGINS IN 1962

Overlooking the sparkling waters of Banderas Bay and the red clay-rooftops that dot the Sierra Madre Mountains, the setting is irresistible.

Its little wonder that screen legends Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, as famous for their passionate romance as for their award-lavished movies, chose the casitas that now comprise Casa Kimberly as their beloved home-away-from-home.

The luxurious nine-suite boutique hotel, with an open-air rooftop restaurant, tequila bar, pool and an intimate spa, was lovingly created from the quaint side-by-side houses once owned by the star-crossed couple.

Casa Kimberly’s history begins in 1962, when Burton came to the sleepy fishing village of Puerto Vallarta to star in director John Huston’s classic The Night of the Iguana.

Burton and Taylor had met a few years before, on the set of Cleopatra, and were in the whirl of a scandalous romance—she was still married to Eddie Fisher, he to Sybil Williams.

GUEST SUITES
Casa Kimberly’s suites, including the grand and luxurious Elizabeth Taylor Suite, her personal quarters, are each uniquely designed with a mix of modern amenities and traditional Colonial style.

Most rooms boast sweeping views of the Banderas Bay below, the Sierra Madre Mountains behind and the charming cityscape all around.

Indulgent baths, some with claw foot tubs, others with rain showers backed by striking tile walls under domed brick ceilings or hand-painted murals are each individually and opulently designed. Most suites also enjoy private Jacuzzi tubs discreetly set on terraces with breathtaking views.

Elizabeth Taylor Suite
The Elizabeth Taylor suite, accessed via a private elevator or hand-painted tile steps leading from the central courtyard, is a more than 2500 square-foot sanctuary of tranquil opulence.

The wrap-around terrace, completely secluded, has its own pool and Jacuzzi, and offers panoramic views of the sparkling waters of Banderas Bay and the majestic Sierra Madre mountains, just as Taylor and Burton would have seen them.

Over the magnificent Mexican Colonial style bed, a Swarovski crystal chandelier illuminates the hand-painted winged cherubim gracing an elegant dome.

The bath, nearly as spacious as the bedroom, features the original pink-marble heart-shaped tub that Taylor commissioned for Casa Kimberly. (Perhaps the result of a translation glitch, the tub arrived in the amorphous shape of real heart rather than as a symmetrical Valentine.)

Marble pillars and the stairs leading to the raised tub add a regal note to this exquisite aerie.

The Iguana Restaurant & Tequila Bar

Casa Kimberly’s open air restaurant, The Iguana, overlooks the city of Puerto Vallarta and Banderas Bay and serves contemporary Mexican cuisine in an elegant but informal ambience.

Retractable walls take advantage of gentle coastal breezes and crystal chandeliers add soft light while water dances in the adjacent courtyard fountain. The dining room wraps around to an outdoor patio with shady palms and another central fountain.

In between is nestled the boutique Tequila Bar, serving a wide array of top flight tequilas and mezcals, all made within driving distance of Casa Kimberly in the legendary region of Jalisco.

Executive Chef Jesus Suastegui has created a menu blending traditional Mexican dishes with modern culinary influences. Fresh, local and seasonal are his guiding principles.

The Iguana Tequila Bar specializes in the region’s best tequilas and mezcals. With several dozen top flight and often rare labels, this is a tequila aficionado’s dream. Resident tequila experts can help acquaint newcomers to the heart and soul of this beloved spirit.

A full bar and wine list including some renowned Mexican labels are also available. House specialty cocktails take advantage of local fruits, herbs and spices to create a uniquely enticing selection.

SPA
The CK spa comprises two spacious treatment suites with private Jacuzzis. Each suite accommodates up to two guests for a romantic and indulgent experience of healing and relaxing treatments.

Appointments are customized to each individual guest. Skin care, nail care, body treatments, specialty spa baths featuring curative infusions, aromatherapy and more soothe the body and calm the mind. In suite appointments available upon request, as well.
