THE HISTORY
It all began in 1954, when Francine and Emile Corre bought this 14th century house of character to establish their restaurant, tobacco shop and grocery shop. Emile is in the kitchen, Francine in service.
Even then, people came from far and wide to enjoy their seafood, roast turkey and famous pancakes. In 1988, Brigitte and Philippe Corre took over the establishment and quickly developed a hotel and spa offer. Taking over from their parents in 2018, the arrival of Nolwenn and Tanguy Corre marks a new stage for L’Hostellerie de la pointe Saint-Mathieu.
In 2019, Nolwenn’s kitchen at gastronomic restaurant is awarded a star in the Michelin Guide. And this is only the beginning. Nolwenn and Tanguy are teeming with projects designed to extend the family heritage that has been built up over three generations on the Pointe Saint-Mathieu.

LE POINTE SAINT MATHIEU
Around the Pointe Saint Mathieu, an atmosphere of history and symbolism still hovers. The starting point of the pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, it is the most western point of France. The impressive cliffs serve as a promontory for the Saint Mathieu lighthouse, whose white and red colours contrast with the deep blue of the ocean.
Its 29-mile range helps to signal ships as far as the Brest Narrows. It is possible to visit the lighthouse and enjoy the magnificent view of the land sinking into the sea from its 37-metre high tower.
SAINT-MATHIEU DE FINE-TERRE
Nearby, you can visit the memorial to the sailors who died for France and the ruins of the ancient 11th century abbey of Saint Mathieu de Fine-Terre, a listed building that was once an important place of worship in the region and a pilgrimage site. It is said to be the remaining witness of an even older abbey, founded by Saint Tanguy in the 6th century.
From the Hostellerie de la Pointe Saint Mathieu, Finistère can also be explored on foot thanks to the GR34 trail, which runs along the coast. Since 1791, its 1800 km of paths through the moors offer sumptuous landscapes, among the most beautiful panoramas of Brittany, and a breathtaking view of the islands.
LE CONQUET
Le Conquet, in Brittany, is literally the port at the end of the world, where the fisheries are renowned for their quality, rich in noble fish and shellfish such as monkfish, skate, crab and crab, the symbol of the town.

PLOUGONVELIN
Plougonvelin, where our hotel with indoor swimming pool is located, is a haven of peace, just a 5-minute drive from Le Conquet in Brittany. A visit to the Bertheaume fort is a must. Located on an islet connected to the mainland by a small footbridge, its location dates back to the Stone Age.
Since then, Vauban himself fortified it in the 17th century and today the place is dedicated to concerts and sound and light shows. Adventurers will also enjoy the nearby sports routes, including a zip line and climbing opportunities.

At Lagatjar, the 87 menhirs over 3 m high that stand on the peninsula evoke a thousand-year-old and enigmatic past, while at the Pointe de Pen Hir, impressive rocks, known as “Tas de Pois” (pea heaps), protrude into the sea and contribute to the undeniable charm of the Crozon peninsula.
The most curious visitors will find something to quench their thirst for adventure and history by finishing their journey by contemplating the coastline from the top of the cliffs of the Pointe des Espagnols.
USHANT
The island of Ushant fascinates by the beauty of its fields of heather and gorse, but also by its fauna. Easily accessible from the port of Le Conquet, the trip can be made in a day.
The island is famous for its breed of sheep, the smallest in the world and, in the past, for its dwarf horses, now extinct. A visit to Ushant during the migration period is also a chance to see many rare bird species.
MOLÈNE
A few kilometres away, the landscapes of the Molène archipelago can be contemplated in silence. The water is turquoise, the churches and alleys contrast the stone with vast wild plains overlooking the sea.
On Ouessant Island, it is also the plenitude that prevails when you come across old low walls along the hiking trails. The Musée de l’abri du marin and the island’s lighthouse are the two main sights, apart from the wonderful sunsets to be admired from the beaches.
