The Hotel du Continent, a beautiful 3 star establishment located in the heart of Paris, offers every guest an exclusive welcome, warm hospitality and personalised services.

Its incredible decor, with each floor being different and distinctive, also invites everyone who stays here to partake in a unique experience: a trip around the world in 2 poles, 5 continents, 25 rooms and a myriad of ornamental details as attractive as they are refined.

Out of the creative soul of the globe-trotting Christian Lacroix comes a unique style, both ethnically inspired and very fashionable, which combines shimmering fabrics and embroidery inspired by faraway lands, rare or exquisite materials, fine furniture, objects of curiosity, the charming charts, maps and globes of yesteryear, and frescoes luminous with the myriad colours of the world.

The favourite themes of the world-famous French Designer, who here conjures up a fascinating blend of exoticism and contemporary creativity, are all combined in this establishment to produce the ambience of a time-lost cartography.

With a destination that changes from floor to floor, the Hotel du Continent is a beautiful hymn to a journey that brings all the beauty of the world to Paris.

DESIGN BY CHRISTIAN LACROIX
Unique among other establishments, the Hotel du Continent promises its visitors a journey around the globe without the necessity of leaving Paris. Christian Lacroix, who created the interior design, wished for each floor to represent a continent:

“These days, whoever speaks of continents no longer considers only Europe, but embraces all others. One per floor? Yes, we have combined the Americas, and considered the Arctic and Antarctic together, the better to express our theme.

All the six landmasses have, of course, been envisioned far from any anthropological or strictly ethnic concerns, but with the fanciful distancing effect known to travellers of yesteryear, who brought back with them from distant lands not only scientific information, but tales and fables, too, feeding the Parisians of the time with legends, traditions and fanciful folklore as well as absolute verity”.

A PRIVILEGED LOCATION
BETWEEN THE CONCORDE AND THE OPERA
Housed in an historic building dating back nearly two centuries, the Hotel du Continent is located just a short stroll from the Tuileries Garden.

Ideally located in the centre of Paris, in the trendy 1st arrondissement, the hotel counts among its prestigious neighbours the Place Vendôme, the Place de la Concorde, the Church of the Madeleine, the Louvre Museum, the Opera, as well as the Rue Saint-Honoré.

On the other side of the Seine, Les Invalides and Saint-Germain-des-Prés complete this unique environment, which combines luxury brands, fashion boutiques, gourmet tea rooms and fine restaurants, as well as museums and historical monuments.

Everything that contributes to the richness and the beauty of the City of Light is directly accessible from the hotel, which is served by a number of public transport options.

Such as many museums and emblematic places like the Place de la Concorde and the Musée du Jeu de Paume (5 minutes), the Church of the Madeleine (8 minutes), the Louvre Museum (10 minutes), the Opera (10 minutes), as well as the Musée d’Orsay (11 minutes).

XL ROOM – JUNIOR SUITE
With their bedroom and separate living area, these very spacious suites enable the most demanding of travellers to thoroughly enjoy their stay at the Hotel du Continent.

The innovative and distinctive décor bears the unmistakable imprint of one of the most important French interior designers, Christian Lacroix, who thought of everything in terms of style and development.

Decorated – as is the rest of the building – on the theme of travel, these rooms enjoy a unique atmosphere and an excellent standard of facilities.

XM ROOM – DOUBLE OR TWIN
These comfortable and superbly designed rooms invite you on a fabulous journey around the globe, conceived and launched by Christian Lacroix. All materials, colours and objects have been chosen so that they contribute to the ethnically inspired and fashionable style that makes these rooms absolutely unique.

The Hotel du Continent XM rooms measure 15 to 19 m² and are available in two versions: ‘Double’, with a large bed for 2 occupants, or ‘Twin’, with two beds each accommodating 1 occupant. Wake-up calls from reception and an iron and ironing board are available on request.

SERVICES & AMENITIES
The 3 stars obtained by the Hotel du Continent are primarily in recognition of the personalised and tailor-made benefits provided by the staff of the establishment. Accessible 24/7, the hotel places a wide range of services and amenities at the disposal of guests for the duration of their stay.

DISCOVERING THE COVERED PASSAGES OF PARIS
They are tucked away discreetly. You could easily miss them, or you might discover one by chance during a walk. However, they have been present in the heart of the capital since the 19th century.

What are they? The covered passages and galleries of Paris; places where time seems to have stopped and it’s always pleasant to stroll. And they’re not far from your hotel.

Of the twenty covered passages and galleries still extant in Paris, many are distinguished by their architectural merit. In the 2nd arrondissement you can discover the Galerie Vivienne, one of the most famous passages, whose splendid colourful floor mosaic is crowned by an impressive glass roof.

This luxurious early shopping arcade dates from 1823. It’s a pleasure to wander and browse amidst its elegant neo-classical Pompeian-style decor.

The Passage Brady in the 10th arrondissement is the place to go to taste delicious Indian cuisine. The Passage des Panoramas, the oldest of the covered passages, boasts a wealth of bars and restaurants and offers plenty of opportunities to sample traditional bistro cuisine.

The Galerie Véro-Dotat, located near the Hôtel du Continent in the 1st arrondissement, hosts a wealth of high-quality shops, including the atelier-boutique of the leading luxury footwear designer, Christian Louboutin.

Don’t miss the Galerie Colbert and its impressive rotunda surmounted by a glass dome. This exquisite covered arcade houses the National Institute of Art History and the National Heritage Institute.

SHOPPING ON THE AVENUE MONTAIGNE
The base of the ‘Golden Triangle’ of Paris, the Avenue Montaigne forms, along with certain select neighbouring streets, an island of luxury and elegance.

Along this peaceful avenue leading from the Place de l’Alma to the Champs-Élysées, in the shade of the chestnut trees, the biggest names in haute couture have set up their alluring stores. Make the most of the proximity of your Hotel du Continent and enjoy a shopping trip to the Avenue Montaigne!

More discreet and refined than the nearby Avenue des Champs-Elysées, the Avenue Montaigne is a temple of fashion and good taste, luxury and haute couture à la française.

Along its nearly 700 metre length, you’ll find all the top brands you would expect, including Chanel, Christian Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent, Louis Vuitton and many others. The latest trends and all the joys of luxury await you there.

Your shopping trip to the Avenue Montaigne will also be an opportunity to discover a place much appreciated by celebrities over the years. While window shopping, you’ll pass apartments once occupied by the likes of Ferdinand de Lesseps, Marlene Dietrich, the Shah of Iran, and Zlatan Ibrahimović.

You will also come across the luxurious Hotel Plaza Athénée, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and magnificent mansions emblematic of the Parisian revival of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th. Beautiful reasons to lift your gaze from the shop windows!

The grandes maisons compete with the appeal of upmarket shopping, making the Avenue Montaigne an unforgettable experience…
