In Sanskrit, Jiva means life. And it is as a testament to life and existence that the Jiva Hill Resort was created and continues to develop today. In 2019, a new décor, new chef and new amenities attest to the establishment’s vitality.
Nestled in the heart of the Haut-Jura natural park, the hotel blends in seamlessly with its natural surroundings in much the same way as South African lodges and cabins peppering the Swedish archipelago, using wood and metal as its most distinctive features.
The buildings are scattered across a park entirely dedicated to leisure, including a 9-hole, 18-tee golf course, two tennis courts and a water-skiing lake.
Today, the resort offers 25 Deluxe rooms and two Deluxe corner rooms, each with its own terrace or balcony, as well as four Jacuzzi Lodges with a private jacuzzi. Uncluttered design, playing on combinations of subtle and warm beige and brown tones, gives the rooms a quiet and soft atmosphere.
Possibilities for leisure are just as broad, with two restaurants, a bar, a game room and cinema, a spa featuring both an indoor and outdoor pool, as well as a vast collection of more than 200 works of art, bringing life to a resort where all the senses are engaged.

The Jiva Hill Resort***** offers 50 rooms among which 12 superior rooms, 4 superior rooms with mountain view, 24 Deluxe rooms, 4 corner Deluxe rooms, 4 Jacuzzi Lodges, 2 Jiva Hill Suites and 2 Family Suites.
The superior rooms, superior rooms with mountain view and suites are very modern: the architect knew how to marry the raw and sincere character of concrete with the nobility of walnut wood and the warmth of textiles and natural fibers carefully selected in cream, copper and rust shades.
These rooms offer a view over the Japanese garden or the golf, some of them offer view iover the Jura mountain.
With their deep carpet, adorned with subtle shades of beige or brown glossy leather and plush throws, decorated with original paintings and equipped with the very latest technologies, the Deluxe rooms and Jacuzzi Lodges offer a truly luxurious setting.
In the middle of the room, the bed is arranged opposite of the large windows to enjoy the view on the foothills of Jura. The bathroom is equally refined, spacious and bright. They offer a view over the Jura. One Deluxe room and two superior rooms are equipped for disabled persons.
JIVA HILL SUITE
The Jiva Hill Suites offer a terrace fully equipped and a magnificent view over the Jura Mountains or Mont-Blanc. A dressing room with safe, minibar and a Nespresso coffee machine are at your disposal.
The large bathroom enjoys natural light and is equipped with a tub, a large walk-in shower and double basins. Separate toilets. Enjoy a large separated living room with sofa bed and a dining room.
Our Suites can accommodate 4 persons maximum (3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children). The suite can be connected to a superior room to offer a family suite of 100 sqm with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a shared lounge.
JACUZZI LODGE
Our Jacuzzi Lodge will delight travelers looking for a private & intimate luxury experience. The Jacuzzi Lodges feature a furnished terrace and a private Jacuzzi. A dressing room with safe, minibar and a Nespresso coffee machine are at your disposal.
The large bathroom enjoys natural light and is equipped with a bath, a large walk-in shower and double basins. Separate toilets . A sofa bed can accommodate two children or one additional adult (free under 12 years old).
LE JIVA RESTAURANT
This first restaurant of the Jiva Hill Resort’s has a distinctive slant towards chic bistro culture. The most exclusive products are taken for a walk on the wild side. On the menu, half lobster poached and grilled, braised sweetbreads and confit pigeon legs and roasted breasts set the tone of the menu.
The fundamentals of the great French cuisine are expressed in the attention to cooking times, the originality of garnishes and the intensity of sauces.
Chef Jean-François Vasseur
With the arrival of Chef Jean-François Vasseur, restaurants at the Jival Hill Resort showcase a bold new cuisine. In his early forties, the young chef who earned his stripes at the Grand Hôtel du Lac in Vevey, Switzerland, now boasts extensive experience.
Trained in the Michelin-starred kitchens of several well-respected hotels, his cuisine spotlights products, seasonality and authentic tastes – values he inherited from a childhood spent deeply rooted in the earth.
The son of a vegetable farmer based in Northern France, Chef Vasseur was initiated to quality from a very early age. It became the basis for his craft. And in order to find that quality, he cultivates an extensive network of farmers and suppliers, establishing longstanding friendships with them.
For the Jiva Hill Resort, he imagined several new concepts, with menus that will change five times a year to reflect local harvest seasons.

« JIVA » is a Buddhist term which means a human being. Jiva Hill, the alive hill, is a dream of 10 years with a little bit crazy idea to transform an agricultural ground with an exceptional position into a heaven place offering: luxury, sport, peace and relaxation to its guests.
Since 2012, Jiva Hill Resort is pleased to host an exhibition of the New York photographer Roberto Dutesco, whose collection of works intitled “The Wild Horses of Sable Island” presents unique shots of wild horses living on the Sable Island, a small Canadian island located 290km southeast of Nova Scotia coasts, in the Atlantic Ocean.
For 20 years, Roberto Dutesco observed and studied these animals which would have been abandoned right after a shipwreck in the 18th Century and which are now protected by the Canadian government.
Stunning photographs, unprecedented collection of extraordinary moments in a site without human settlement, where horses roam freely. Roberto Dutesco depicts the beauty of these animals and the bareness of these virgin lands, creating a photographic memory that seizes the mind and soul.
