Whenever the countryside starts to blossom, spring has arrived in the region of Meran. You will feel the heat and warmth of the sun and our Mediterranean climate.
We offer easy, exhilarating hikes, for example along the Waalwege, ancient water-irrigation canals dating back to the twelfth century, excursions by bike on our safe cycle paths or on the numerous facilities for mountain bike tours, strolls through the towns of Meran and Bozen. The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle in Meran will show you a whole world of flowers and plants in one garden.
WINTER HOLIDAY
A holiday in your skiing hotel in the Merano 2000 ski resort is all about winter adventures during the winter season. Enjoy the many facets of winter along kilometres of slopes, on the toboggan run, in powder snow or on prepared winter hiking trails
And you will still get your money’s worth even if you are not a big winter sports fan. You can be just as cosy indoors watching the snowflakes dance outside the window.
SKIING
Not only will the thrill of the ski slopes make a difference to your winter holiday in Hafling Meran 2000. Our guests prefer to be close to Meran with its thermal baths as well as to the winter atmosphere of the Christmas markets of Bozen and Meran.
SNOWSHOE HIKING
From simple explorations through the woods all the way up to challenging treks, from high-altitude excursions along the timberline to demanding summit climbs: anything is possible.
Secluded routes pass through woods and fields and across Alpine pastures and meadows, where they reward hikers with breathtaking panoramas of the surrounding mountains. The view ranges from the Texel Mountains all the way to the Dolomites, and from the area around Mount Ortler to the Dolomiti di Brenta Mountains in the south.
The ski lodges at Merano 2000 are accessible along easy, cleared snow trails and offer hot drinks and outstanding South Tyrolean cuisine to weary winter hikers. Spacious sun terraces are a great place to take a break when the temperature is mild. The sun shines hours longer on the high plateau, than it does in the valley and offers 360-degree views.
LUCKIS KINDERLAND
Children’s playworld – the outdoor playground and winter fun-park for children in Merano 2000 family ski area is called Luckis Kinderland, named after the ever-present mascot Haflinger horse Lucki.
The play area for the youngest is located directly at the summit station of the Merano 2000 cable car. This way parents can keep a guarded eye on their young ones. Admittance to Luckis Kinderland behind the cable car summit station is free of charge. At Luckis Kinderland there are three moving walkways and flat, wide runs for beginners.
There kids have enough possibilities to enjoy snow skiing, playing, coasting and having fun with other children. And all this while their parents are watching them relaxed from the bistro’s sunny terrace.
The kids are supervised all day long at Mini Ski Club and at the ski school. Lucki, the horse mascot for kids and families, accompanies little skiers throughout the ski area. The mascot is a big help in terms of helping kids feel comfortable on the slopes, as well.
In front of the new Panorama Bistro has opened the so called “family hall”. After first experiences on the slopes, children can play with other kids in the playing doll corner. Additionally there is also the possibility to consume self-brought meals.
