A remote location overlooking the Kwikamba Pan – the largest natural pan in the area – and built with great sensitivity for the environment, Nogatsaa Pans Lodge provides that truly pure safari feeling.

This modern, luxurious lodge is located in a sought-after wildlife destination at the heart of the Chobe National Park, situated 80 kilometres south of the Chobe River front area, and is the only lodge within the Nogatsaa region of the park.

This is the ultimate location for safari enthusiasts: the area has a cluster of natural clay pans, which fill during the rainy season, and supplementary waterholes (with raised hides) for the drier times, attracting an abundance of wildlife.

In between safari activities, the beautiful, open lodge provides stunning views over the Kwikamba Pan and waterholes. Enjoy your breakfast, lunch, or dinner on the handsome wooden deck and watch elephants or other herds seeking to quench their thirst.

Experience an unforgettable combination of delicious fragrances, textures, and flavours accompanied by candlelight while the resident hippos serenade you. The twelve luxurious spacious canvas tents are strategically placed for sweeping views of the Kwikamba Pan – the biggest of many clay bottom pans dotting the area.

This permanent access to water draws a wealth of wildlife to the area, so wildlife-viewing starts at sunrise, when you wake to take a peek from your veranda. All of the luxury tented rooms are well appointed and have lime-washed wooden floors, contemporary decorations, and private viewing decks.

The two family tents consist of a main tent with a soft king bed, an adjoining bathroom, lounge area and a second tent with twin beds. Central spaces include a dining room, bar and lounge with comfy seating. Choose something from the library, so you can kickback with a book on fauna and flora during siesta, while keeping an eye on the roaming wildlife in front of you.

With so much wildlife to discover, there is no time to waste. Early in the morning, after a light breakfast with fresh coffee or tea, it is time for a game drive. All the game drives take place through an established road network along the Ngwezumba River.

You will also meander through mature Mopane woodlands, that provide not just exciting game viewing, but also a rich bird population. This remote area is dotted with lookout hides, open grasslands, pans and waterholes, adding to the safari experience reminiscent of yesteryear.

Between your morning and afternoon game drives you can cool off in the pool or laze on a sun lounger while wildlife passes by. Evenings are for gatherings in the boma around a blazing fire and looking up at the stars.

Share safari experiences with other guests, or listen to the countless tales from the guides. On clear evenings the night sky puts on a cosmic show. Make sure to join the resident guide on the upstairs deck for some serious stargazing and an explanation of what you see. And as you look up, all you need to do is be present and let this untouched land win over your heart.
