MENU FOR CONNOISSEURS
As part of the gourmet menu, you enjoy the daily gourmet breakfast and a 4-course evening menu from the excellent gourmet cuisine. When the weather is nice, this takes place on our sun terrace.

Every morning on your breakfast table you will find our morning mail with the menu for the respective evening as well as information for your stay. Enjoy the rich gourmet breakfast from 7:00 to 10:30 a.m.

Dinner as part of the 4-course evening menu is served in 2 sessions at 6:00 or 8:00 p.m. Please let us know for which session we can reserve your table. When the weather is nice, this takes place on the sun terrace.

HOTEL RESTAURANT
We serve you light and uncomplicated cuisine daily from the pool menu. Enjoy a cool cocktail or a small snack on the sun terrace with a fantastic view of Lake Traunsee on our jetty with direct access to the lake.

You have the opportunity to enjoy something “sweet in between” or a refreshing drink at our jetty. Our sun terrace also invites you to a small snack from the pool menu.

The small selection of dishes depends on the season and can therefore vary. Enjoy, for example, Traunkirchner sheep’s cheese, Fried Perlfisch Burger or pickled vineyard peach. Orders can be placed in the hotel restaurant from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m.

The BOOTSHAUS: a no-frills gourmet restaurant where you feel at home, proof that sophistication and simplicity are not contradictory but harmonise perfectly with each other. The strong ties to the region can be felt not only in the culinary delights, but also in the ambience.

A gourmet restaurant built right on top of a boathouse: with stylish materials, light wood and the rich blue of the Traunsee lake, which can not only be admired when looking through the generous window front, but is also reflected in the furnishings.

In the Bootshaus restaurant you can enjoy the best cuisine of Upper Austria with unobstructed views of the lake. Instead of a regular menu, a fresh basket of first-class regional products awaits you every day in the Bootshaus. Chef Lukas Nagl and his team will conjure up unique dishes creating lasting memories.

The Bootshaus kitchen is perfectly complemented by a professional service team. Service management Heike Herkenrath, host Felix Schwaighofer and sommelier Lisa Wimmer work unobtrusively but of course in harmony with the kitchen.

Changing values (Im Wandel der Werte). Together with his team, executive chef Lukas Nagl manages to combine local tradition and the best products with creative lightness in a cuisine always focused on taste.

Not only is the Salzkammergut home to Nagl, it is also the inspiration for his dishes. These are easy to understand, simple and reduced to the essentials, but should still taste refined.

Beauty lies in simplicity. The „Bootshaus“ team strives to develop with its guests. Without frills and allures, uncompromisingly regional and open-minded.

Regional products from organic farmers are combined with ideas, memories and flavours from all over the world to create a new Austrian cuisine with a traditional approach. For Lukas Nagl this means integrating global aspects in order to develop something new and individual.

Not only culinary pleasure awaits you at the Bootshaus – fine wines, surprises on the palate and unusual bottled treasures – the wine assortment is constantly kept in motion by our sommelier-team selecting, enlarging and refining it.

More important than big names and awards are the personality of the wine and the winemaker in the selection process. At the Bootshaus we give the deserved stage to innovative, small wineries where the focus is on the product.

Thus, the wine accompaniment takes you on a journey into the unknown, where you can explore new wines. The main focus remains on harmony and the perfectly matched interaction of wine and dish.

LUKAS NAGL
The 34-year-old native of Upper Austria is the proud father of three children and lives with his young family in the Salzkammergut area. International positions and top addresses such as the Steirereck in Vienna characterise his work.

For the past 11 years Lukas Nagl has been leading the kitchen teams of the Traunseehotels and his name stands for the Bootshaus restaurant. As a result, Traunkirchen has developed into one of the top addresses in Austria’s gourmet scene in recent years.

Lukas Nagl himself is a member of the JRE (Jeunes Restaurateurs Europe), an association of top European chefs and has already won the coveted Trophée Gourmet for creative cuisine.

Traunkirchen was once one of the most important strategic points in the salt trade, but today the small town captivates with its charm and its peninsula on which the town centre is located.

Surrounded by water, the 1000 year old former Jesuit monastery, the landmark of the small village, is towering above it. The host Wolfgang Gröller himself regularly guides visitors through the village and gives an insight into the history and origins of his native village.

The region around Traunkirchen and Lake Traunsee is particularly characterised by its diversity. Thanks to its perfect location by the lake and the surrounding mountains, there is something to experience at each time of year.

In the warm summer months the surrounding area can be explored by motorbike, bicycle or on foot, and in winter the nearby Feuerkogel mountain invites you to go skiing. Traunkirchen is as versatile as the region itself and therefore not only a place to relax but also to experience adventure.

Water sports such as stand-up paddling, kayaking and diving are just some of the possibilities as well as laid-back excursions in a rented electric or sailing boat. Cycling is ideal for exploring the beautiful nature. Therefore, guests can rent bicycles free of charge or use the wide range of tourist information available at the reception.

Those who do not want to put together their own tour can take advantage of a guided tour around lake Traunsee, one of the many attractions offered by the Seehotel Das Traunsee.

And for anyone who prefer a more laid-back trip, a modern e-bike can be rented at the reception for€ 35.00 per day. With the tailwind from the silent electric motor, one can easily manage any ascending slope.

WATER SPORTS
There are many different ways to indulge in your passion for the lake. Whether you go out on a sailing boat, an electric boat or a traditional Traunsee boat – as a hotel guest you are spoilt for choice.

If you are looking for even more action, you can also go rowing, kitesurfing, windsurfing or water skiing on lake Traunsee. Due to its depth, the Traunsee is also an excellent spot for diving. Thus, all those who prefer to explore under water are well catered for.

ELECTRIC BOAT & WATER TAXI
The Loidl electric boat rental is located directly in the town centre of Traunkirchen. The easy-to-operate, colourful boats offer the ideal opportunity to explore and experience lake Traunsee from the water.

A tour ”untern Stoa” (under the Traunstein) is especially recommended, as it offers a particularly impressive view of the massive guardian of the Salzkammergut. In addition, the reception staff will be happy to organise a water taxi or a lake tour around lake Traunsee for you.

DIVING IN LAKE TRAUNSEE
Dive into the mystical realm of the infinite depths of the lake Traunsee. With 32 official dive sites around the lake, the Traunsee offers enough diving opportunities for beginners as well as experienced divers.

The dive site right next to our lakeside hotel, Das Traunsee, is particularly recommended. Simply book your diving course with Adventure Diving and experience spectacular views of deep cliffs. Of course, you can also service and rent equipment there and have oxygen bottles filled.

GOLF HOLIDAY IN TRAUNKIRCHEN
With a golf bag you are never ill-equipped in the Salzkammergut. Nine of Austria’s most beautiful golf courses are located in the region and can be reached within 15 to 50 minutes by car from the Seehotel Das Traunsee. Because it doesn’t matter how you play golf, but where you play it.

The golf courses in the Salzkammergut are as numerous as its lakes. As the names Golfclub Attersee / Weyregg, Golfclub am Mondsee already reveal, some golf courses are even very close to a lake.

Within a radius of 50 minutes by car around the Seehotel, every golfer will probably find the perfect course for himself, because there is plenty of choice and one course is more beautiful than the other!

Furthermore nothing beats putting your bag aside after a strenuous round of golf and cooling down in the lake with a view of the Traunstein.

WINTER HOLIDAY ON LAKE TRAUNSEE
Snowflakes are falling from the sky, the otherwise lush green landscape is covered in a white snowy blanket and the region around the Traunsee is quiet in winter.

It almost seems like an invitation to trudge through the snow and later warm up in the sauna with a view of the lake. Discover the delights of the Salzkammergut during this quiet season.

Considering the hustle and bustle in large ski resorts during the winter season, the tranquillity in Traunkirchen is certainly golden. No mass processing, overcrowded huts or ski resorts bursting at the seams.

Rather a family-friendly ski area on the nearby Feuerkogel mountain, where both beginners and experienced skiers get their money’s worth. For non-skiers there is the possibility to tramp through the winter landscape on snowshoes.

Whether on skis or snowshoes: a stop at the charming „Kranabethhütte“ on the Feuerkogel is definitely recommended.

Alternatively, there are cross-country ski runs in Mitterndorf, just a few minutes from Traunkirchen and wonderful cross-country skiing opportunities at the Postalm. For those with a sense of adventure, the nearby Hochsteinalm is a good place to go.

The natural sleigh run is only a 10-minute drive from Traunkirchen. You walk up for about 45 minutes and then, after a culinary break at the alpine hut, you go down with the borrowed sleigh – the perfect excursion for all those in search of some action.
