An intertwining of history, stories and cultures, leading from Cagliari’s harbour all the way to the piano nobile of Palazzo Marini-Devoto. Art, colour, spaces, furnishings and fabrics encapsulate upcoming periods and places. A charming residence that looks out to sea, serving as your oasis of peace and tranquillity in the centre of Cagliari.

Intimate, relaxing spaces, the backdrop of an almost surreal atmosphere, offering an unusual perspective on the city. In front of you lies Cagliari, with all of the particular light emitted by the waves and its historic colonnades – a crossroads of commerce, encounters and traditions from all across the world.

A hotel that speaks of journeys and people, in which items that previously belonged to other travellers reappear, to the surprise and delight of today’s visitors; unique places in which art and poetry are combined with 19th-century novels and contemporary design. The sacred and the profane alternate in the hallways, amid the perfumes of orchids and the notes of familiar music.

A concierge constantly at your beck and call to help you make the most of Sardinia, from traditional flavours to the experience of a sunset on the trail of the past. A car on hand to explore unusual itineraries, tailored luxury treatments for guests and their four-legged friends. The sort of care and attention you will only find at the Miramare, your charming home-from-home in Sardinia.

An ever-changing experience is on offer in the rooms of the Miramare, each one different from the next and all hidden along the hallways of the imposing Palazzo Marini-Devoto, which dates from 1870.

Rooms designed by young artists, with vintage furnishings and original, dreamlike artworks. Allegories, literary contaminations, refined temptations that evoke ever-changing emotions and ideas.

ELEONORA D’ARBOREA
Music wafting from an old record player, art deco furniture from the ‘30s, precious rugs hand-made in Sardinia and a small private garden, a glimpse of the harbour, Edwardian nostalgia.

UGOLINO (NINO) VISCONTI
A cherry-red backdrop welcomes you into a comic-book room, with a cartoon on the walls, cartoons on the rigorous ebony furnishings and the Giò Ponti lamps.

ENZO DI SARDEGNA
Violet shades and green bed, gazing out to the blue of the sea, and the light of the flowers resplendent on the embroidered ceiling, while the Madonna of the Flower looks on serenely.

SALUSIO DI ARBOREA
As in a painting by Burri, bags of jute imprisoned in resin enclose this marvellous room with its pale, delicate colours and ancient materials.

ART BOUTIQUE MIRAMARE
Paintings, antique furniture, chandeliers and artworks: everything is for sale. The Miramare Hotel is a true Boutique Hotel where all the furnishings and accessories, objects and artworks are always on sale. A market of art, history and stories, where travelers can enter and bring with them what they loved.

With the aim of making the link between the hotel and the world of artists strong, the Payable in art project was born and allows you to pay the hotel bill in art. Emerging or established painters and sculptors wishing to take a trip to Cagliari are welcome: they will be able to reciprocate hospitality with their work, representative of their artistic journey.

THE BREAKFAST
The air in the breakfast room within our prestigious palazzo is filled with the aroma of just-baked pastries. In the morning, the hallways of the Miramare are pervaded by the fragrances of the oven, of fresh biscuits, aromatic pastries and mouthwatering coffee grains.

In our breakfast room, there is a homely lack of regimentation. Coloured armchairs, sofas and expansive views of the promenade. Prized china, time-honoured objects and bizarre creations embellish a delicious authentic buffet.

The offering includes a wealth of sweet and savoury dishes, from coffee to fresh fruit and vegetable smoothies, alongside the very best teas and herbal infusions, fresh bread and other local and international delights. The right way to start the day, in a welcoming environment that’s also perfect for afternoon tea, a sparkling aperitif or an after-dinner drink.

THE GARDEN
A precious botanical jewel in which to let loose and re-charge your batteries. “They stayed there in the courtyard, man and plant, facing each other, the man almost feeling plant-sensations under the rain, the plant […] amazed, much like a man who finds himself suddenly drenched from head to foot, his clothes soaked.” (Italo Calvino – The Rain and the Leaves)

Out of the experience of Evelina Mameli (Italo Calvino’s mother), director of the Cagliari Botanical Garden in the 1920s, and out of our passion for flowers, comes this precious green corner of the Miramare, a little internal garden in which you can let yourself be enchanted by the perfumes, the colours and the silence.

More than 100 native Sardinian species populate this oasis, awash with the perfumes of orchids and the colours of exotic flowers and plants. Tillandsias, irises, ferns, buttercups, columbines and narcissuses adorn a characterful, relaxing space, thanks to the care lavished on them by Antonino Soddu Pirellas, Mauro Ballero and the staff of the Miramare.

Small tables and chairs in the art nouveau style complement the garden – perfect for a delightful open-air breakfast, an exclusive brunch or the simple company of a good book.
