A lovingly restored Jersey manor house with 29 individually designed bedrooms and suites, this boutique luxury hotel is one of Europe’s most celebrated getaway destinations. Longueville Manor is the most highly rated of all Jersey hotels.

It is the only AA Five Red Star hotel as well as the sole member of the exclusive Relais & Châteaux worldwide collection of luxury hotels and restaurants. Guests can expect a sophisticated yet relaxed home from home experience from the moment of arrival to the day of departure.

With exceptional hospitality, understated service and meticulous attention to detail, fine food and wine combine to create a haven of sheer indulgence where dreams can become reality.

Sitting at the foot of one of Jersey’s beautiful valleys, Longueville Manor is admired by both travel writers and food critics alike. It is a unique reflection of owners, Malcolm and Patricia Lewis and the passion they have for welcoming guests to their special hotel.

Both Longueville Manor and the island of Jersey make the perfect destination for that romantic break or magical family holiday. In addition, the professional events team will arrange “state of the art” meeting facilities, private dining and tailor-made events.

HISTORY
The hotel was brought to life from a state of disrepair by Sidney and Edith Lewis in 1949. Soon, their son Neal and his wife Barbara became involved and they took over the reins in 1965. By 1969 Longueville Manor was not only the first Jersey hotel to have all en-suite bedrooms, but was also the first to have its own swimming pool.

Their achievements were quickly rewarded; in 1971 Longueville was the first hotel in Jersey to be awarded 4 stars by the AA and by 1972 had become a member of Relais de Campagne, later to be known as Relais & Châteaux.

Neal and Barbara stepped back from the business in 1987, with their son Malcolm taking over having already been actively involved with the hotel for five years. Today, Malcolm and Patricia Lewis continue to manage this thriving small luxury hotel with the same energy and passion that his parents and grandparents had all those years ago.

The Lewis family have faced many challenges over the years. Today, competing in a difficult economic climate, they continue to be one step ahead of the competition with ongoing investments in both service levels and the property itself.

The family are proud of all they have achieved and recognise that this would not have been possible without the commitment and dedication of the wonderful staff. Progress however does not stop today. Plans are afoot to develop the outbuildings and stables into luxury accommodation and leisure facilities, with the provision of a casual eating venue.

Longueville Manor is quite unique and has a wonderful story to tell. Today, it is one of only three privately owned and managed AA 5 red star hotels in the British Isles and is proud of retaining its precious independence.

Today, Patricia Lewis is at the helm, responsible for the look and style of every aspect of design and comfort. The hotel continues to have that “homely” feel yet incorporates elements of chic and contemporary.

More recently, Patricia has opted for “going it alone” by turning her back on professional interior designers. Her style today comes from instinct and experience and has developed into a clever mix of contemporary and classic whilst retaining the character and feel of the old Jersey manor house.

ROOMS & SUITES
All bedrooms and suites are lovingly designed with a mood and character each of their own. Oversized bath sheets and bath robes, luxurious REN toiletries and a gently scented candle will ensure a sensual feel to every bathroom.

Meanwhile in the bedroom, guests will enjoy complimentary mineral water, fresh fruit, and a collection of the latest magazines. Together with the usual hair dryer and iron/ironing board there is an iPod docking station/alarm clock, Smart TV, cordless telephone and complimentary wifi throughout.

There are six categories of rooms and suites. The entry level is the Standard Room followed by Superior Rooms with Deluxe Rooms being the largest and Deluxe Garden View overlooking the pool area at the back of the property.

A step up from the Deluxe Room are four Junior Suites followed by the distinguished Tower Suite and finally the ultimate Cottage Suite. Whether it’s a short romantic break, a celebration weekend or a family holiday, we are confident there is a room or suite that is right for you.

THE COTTAGE SUITE
This luxurious two bedroom suite is a charming 500 year old cottage, situated just a stone’s throw from the main building. The ancient and the modern go hand in hand to provide the ultimate suite that boasts two luxurious en-suite double bedrooms, a spacious open plan lounge and a dining area for up to eight.

Peony, the larger of the two bedrooms, enjoys an oversized bathroom with separate shower and is large enough to take an extra bed. Meanwhile, the second bedroom Honeysuckle, although slightly smaller is cosy yet thoroughly luxurious.

The Cottage Suite has many original features including a very rare Norman style front door, a typical Jersey granite fireplace and gigantic oak beams thought to have come from shipwrecked Spanish Armada warships.

The Cottage Suite is the perfect suggestion for that exceptional family holiday, an ultimate romantic break or a moment to simply escape. The fresh country cottage theme combines with the latest technology to create a totally unique experience. Size: 160 sqm / 1,720 sq ft on two floors.

TOWER SUITE
With separate lounge and opulent bathroom, The Tower Suite is so named because of its position at the foot of the old north turret. Chic yet understated and more than just sumptuous, the bedroom with separate lounge enjoys a bathroom like no other in the hotel – contemporary yet uncompromisingly romantic, it features amongst many things, a gorgeous stone bath with a separate oversize shower.

This intimate ground floor suite has direct access to the gardens and swimming pool and is a perfect destination for anyone seeking that ultimate special stay or even a family holiday. Size: 60 sqm / 645 sq ft.

FOUNTAIN ROSE JUNIOR SUITE
Situated quietly on the second floor of the original building, “Fountain Rose” is luxurious yet homely and enjoys unparalleled views over the extensive gardens. “Fountain Rose” features chic fabrics and the latest technologies along with an eclectic mix of antique and modern furniture.

Spacious yet cosy, no detail has been overlooked with the suite assuring guests a cosseted and luxurious feel. Meanwhile the bathroom, with its separate rain shower, is both modern and stylish. Ideal for families, this Junior Suite can accommodate one extra bed. Size: 50 sqm / 540 sq ft

DELUXE ROOMS
Spacious, elegant and all the more sumptuous because of their intimate sitting and dining areas, not to mention their luxurious bathrooms. All Deluxe Rooms are beautifully designed and decorated and offer guests the chance to experience Longueville Manor’s magic at its best. With a real sense of indulgence, all rooms are south facing. Size: 40 sqm / 430 sq ft

DINING
The perfect setting to enjoy Andrew Baird’s award winning cuisine and to sample some of the world’s greatest wines. Although fine dining is at the heart of Longueville Manor, special requests are commonplace, kids are well looked after and casual dining is always an option.

During the summer, the pool terrace plays host to an alfresco offering, whilst in the winter, a hearty bowl of soup in front of a roaring log fire is never too much trouble. In addition, well trained bar tenders and knowledgeable sommeliers will attend to every guest’s needs. Room service is available 24 hours with a small selection of hot and cold dishes for night owls.

THE RESTAURANT
Two rooms, both offering a relaxed atmosphere while keeping their unique character. The 15th century Oak Room with its historic oak panelling is perfect for the intimate romantic evening, whilst the Garden Room is ideal for either an evening with friends and family or a professional lunch.

Executive Head Chef Andrew Baird has a style of food that is all about simplicity and flavour, celebrating the finest local produce Jersey has to offer.

Steeped in the classical traditions of fine cuisine, the Longueville kitchen and restaurant continue to innovate, stimulate and surprise, combining understated service with exceptional dishes. A wine list of over 600 bins complements the food and offers a comprehensive selection ranging from popular classics to lesser known handpicked bottles.

WINE & BAR
A highly trained team of Sommeliers meticulously manage and care for the iconic cellar and wine collection. With regular changes in tastes and fashion, the wine collection of around 600 bins adapts accordingly.

In addition to recommending the right wine with the right dish, the Sommeliers have responded to the growing trend of marrying non-alcohol drinks with food. They have created an imaginative and exciting collection of alternatives, taking inspiration from the kitchen gardener and the availability of extraordinary herbs and spices.

The Cocktail Bar attracts the “who’s who” of Jersey and prides itself on the formidable skills of the long serving bar tenders. In addition, a vast range of coffees, teas, infusions and other hot drinks guarantee the right beverage at the right moment.

Needless to say, the kitchen garden has an endless supply of herbs and aromats for the more unusual drinks. It is recommended that parties of 4 or more who wish to visit simply for a drink, reserve in advance to avoid any disappointment.

LOCAL PRODUCE
Jersey, with its unusual micro climate and wonderful clean waters is an amazing larder of fresh produce. Whether harvested from the sea, the land or the Manor’s own kitchen garden, dedicated suppliers work in partnership with the kitchen and source the finest regional ingredients.

Local producers are key and whether it’s the organic dairy farmer up the road, the fisherman who will only catch line-caught sea bass or Longueville’s very own honey, The kitchen is spoilt for choice.

Andrew Baird works closely with the Manor’s own kitchen gardener and forager and depending on the time of year will adapt his menus specifically to what is available right on his doorstep. All too often, words can’t describe the magical quality of the produce that’s readily available; therefore the following collection of images will give a glimpse of what it’s all about.

WINE CELLAR
In 2018 we unveiled a new state-of-the-art wine cellar, the first of its kind in the Channel Islands and one of only a handful in the UK. The hand-built redwood racking system together with sophisticated temperature and humidity controls, enables us to store over 5,000 bottles in absolutely perfect condition.

Adjacent to the Victorian kitchen garden, the cellar’s bespoke lighting and fully glazed entrance door allows guests to discover its uniqueness at any time.

This wine list itself is a work in progress featuring almost 600 bins. We endeavour to search out some of the more interesting, drinkable and good value wines from around the world as well as featuring collections ranging from the famous to the classic and from local to New World.

With their extensive knowledge of wine, our highly trained team of Sommeliers work tirelessly together with hotel owner Malcolm Lewis on this unique collection. The Sommeliers are always on hand to guide and help guests make the perfect choice whilst fully understanding that everyone has their own personal tastes and preferences.

Guests can now also experience some of the finest wines by the glass thanks to WineEmotion, a sophisticated machine that preserves wine from oxidation through a unique nitrogen gas system, keeping aromas and fragrances intact.

THE KITCHEN GARDEN
The 19th century Victorian kitchen garden was purchased and saved from dereliction in 1991. The original glass houses (with an ingenious self sufficient rain water irrigation system) were re-built, the gravel footpaths reinstated and the planting beds brought back to life.

Today, the garden once again supplies the Manor’s kitchen with an abundance of fresh produce virtually all year round. Once again, that magical relationship between kitchen gardener and chef has returned and is now at the heart of everything that happens in the Manor’s kitchens.

During the very same renovation, the ancient “crypt” was discovered. Little is known about its origins, but historians believe that the spiral staircase was built in the early 16th century.

It is thought that this may have been the crypt of the long lost Chapel of St Thomas. Converted into a boiler room during Victorian times, the vaulted underground chamber is today used as a smoke house for the kitchen’s own production of smoked fish and meats.

Guests and visitors are encouraged to visit the garden where more often than not, a member of the gardening team will be on hand to offer a tour. The kitchen gardener and head chef work year round to maximise the potential of the garden.

The extensive glass houses and potting shed enable certain produce to be grown throughout the winter and during the summer they become the perfect conditions for growing the more exotic fruits, vegetables and herbs.

The season starts with a healthy crop of Jersey Royals and finishes with an abundance of kale, winter cabbages and Jerusalem artichokes. In between, is a very carefully programmed production of speciality salads, baby vegetables and numerous fruits and berries. A recent contribution is the all year production of numerous micro herbs, miniature cresses and baby herbs.

LEISURE & WELLNESS
Longueville Manor offers guests the chance to either catch up with their most arduous fitness regime, or alternatively to relax, be pampered and simply do very little. Tennis, fitness centre and jogging trails, not to mention the beautiful outdoor pool and recently added boutique spa, all ensure that every guest’s enjoyment is fulfilled.

Throughout the Island, the number of sporting activities seem endless, whether it be on the water or on the land – horse riding, cycling, sailing, surfing – and the list goes on!

During the summer months, the outdoor swimming pool and its terrace become the focal point of the hotel. The sophisticated, yet tranquil and relaxed setting is perfect for simply chilling out and unwinding.

THE SPA GARDEN
The Cottage Garden is a small yet idyllic sanctuary offering an exceptional spa experience. It is the perfect retreat to de-stress, unwind and be pampered.

Now recognised as one of the leading boutique spas in Jersey, The Cottage Garden takes its name from the tranquil surroundings and nearby Victorian kitchen garden, the spa embodies the purity of the location, the unique setting and the philosophy of all that is Longueville Manor.

Many of the therapies and treatments are fruit and herb based and complete a unique circle of relationships between the kitchen gardener, the chef and the therapist. The highly trained Cottage Garden team will treat every guest on a one-to-one basis and can help recommend either the right spa treatment or a luxurious manicure or pedicure.

In addition to a comprehensive range of REN Skincare treatments, The Cottage Garden has recently introduced a collection of treatments using locally designed and sourced ‘Jersey Skin’ products.

THE SWIMMING POOL
Open from early May all the way through to the end of September, the outdoor pool and its alfresco terrace becomes the focal point of the hotel.

The sophisticated, yet tranquil and relaxed setting is perfect for simply chilling out and unwinding. The terrace is the perfect venue to enjoy a leisurely breakfast, a poolside lunch or a pre-dinner cocktail on warm summer evenings.

The simple yet well balanced menu features a range of meat, seafood and vegetarian dishes, a selection of garden salads and a choice of either freshly dug Jersey Royals or Andrew Baird’s infamous French fries.

THE GYM

The Cottage Garden’s mini gym has a small yet highly sophisticated range of Life Fitness equipment. Fully air-conditioned and temperature controlled, the cross trainer and cycle machines feature the most up-to-date media centres with WiFi internet, social media access and HD Freeview television.

In addition the “multiple” gym system, full set of free weights, gym ball and floor mats will satisfy anyone’s appetite for a comprehensive fitness regime.

Situated next to The Cottage Garden boutique spa, the gym is only a stone’s throw from the hotel and is also ideal for warming up sessions before a longer run or jog in the valley beyond. Mineral water, towels and head phones are all provided.

THE GARDENS
Under the supervision of head gardener David Lewis, the dedicated team tend the grounds as if they were their own. In the mid-19th century, owner of the time, the Reverend W Bateman, re-landscaped the grounds and created more or less what we see today, the attractive lake, the beautiful specimen trees, the romantic walks and the kitchen garden itself. His wonderful creation is a project in progress with developments and new ideas ongoing.

The historic kitchen garden once again provides an abundance of seasonal fruits and vegetables, whilst the 24 bee hives produce all the hotel’s honey requirements throughout the year. Whether it’s a stroll through the woods, a visit to the kitchen garden or simply a snooze by the pool, the beautiful Longueville gardens has something for everyone!

WOODLAND TRAILS
The woodland today continues to attract, not only guests looking to immerse themselves within this natural beauty and serene peace, but also a community of wildlife that enjoys a sustainable environment passionately safeguarded by head gardener, Pascal Ybert and his team.

Explore the woodland trails and along the way, look out for red squirrels, woodpeckers, barn owls, mushrooms and chestnuts – the list is endless. Even the manor’s 24 bee hives on the hillside opposite play their part in looking after this exceptional environment.

Beyond the woods, country lanes will guide you through some of the most picturesque scenery that Jersey has to offer. You’re bound to meet up with the famous Jersey cow or you could possibly stop and admire the meticulous planting methods used for the Jersey Royal potato.

The woodland trails and country lanes beyond are the perfect location for that all important jog or more energetic run. The benefits of jogging just keep on piling up. Jogging is one of the oldest and most popular forms of aerobic exercise.

Fads come and go, but jogging has withstood some of the trendiest exercise crazes that have come through the years. There are many health benefits of jogging which is why it has remained so popular.

Jogging is the next natural step from walking. At a slower or more leisurely pace guests can increase fitness, endurance, and caloric expenditure and at the same time enjoy the surroundings of this magical environment.

TENNIS
The Manor’s tennis court will test even the very best players. Situated next to The Cottage Garden spa, the all-weather tennis court completes the range of comprehensive on-site activities. Racquets, balls and towelling are always available with refreshments served on court upon request.

LUXURY YACHT CHARTER
With an overall length of 44 feet, Fizz Too is powerful yet graceful and her hull is designed to offer a peerless blend of speed, agility and efficiency, all of which combine to ensure an effortless passage wherever you choose to venture.

The 42 is one of Princess’s most successful models. With two en-suite cabins, luxurious saloon, spacious fly bridge and a water sports friendly cockpit and bathing platform, the Princess 42 will guarantee a wonderful day out.

A trip could be a visit to one of the other Channel Islands or simply an island tour. The destination will often depend on weather and tidal conditions. Wherever Fizz Too goes, there is of course the chance of spotting either dolphins or seals.

A full day charter will include a seafood and cold meat salad lunch with dessert as well as Champagne, wine and a selection of hot and cold beverages. A full steward service will be provided throughout the voyage.

Safety is our major concern. A Fizz Too charter is fully insured with a highly experienced and qualified RYA commercial skipper together with one member of crew. There is the provision of fully serviced life jackets, life rafts and every safety precaution as required by law for commercial charter.

Warm clothing and flat shoes are recommended. Beach towels will be provided. Itineraries are dependent on weather and tidal conditions and can therefore be changed or cancelled without notice.
