Jamahkiri Resort & Spa, is a comfortable and sumptuous living resort located in Thian Og Bay on the south side of Koh Tao, a serenity area of the island, easily reachable by a panoramic 10 minutes drive from the harbour, offering a spectacular view over the gulf of Thailand.

Once settled in, you will quickly discover that there are very little reasons to leave the resort, lush tropical garden, cooling pools, the Jamahkiri Spa, a fitness room, the marina and our private PADI diving club, recreational facilities, and fine cuisine, compliment the beauty of the resort’s magnificent surroundings.

KOH TAO
Koh Tao is a small tropical island in the Gulf of Thailand near Koh Samui and Koh Phangan in the province of Surathanie. Located on the island’s southern coastline, the most relatively untouched side of the island. Jamahkiri Resort & Spa is on the eastern side of Thian Og Bay, one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, a free boat shuttle is provided from our Diving club to reach this beach.

The resort can be easily reached by boat from Koh Samui or Chumporn. The Pavilions and Deluxe Rooms are built on a steep hillside, however, that makes that all our accomodations have a great sea view. Koh Tao means “Turtle Island”in Thai language, so named because of the abundance of turtles living around the island. Only 21 sq km and located 70 km from the mainland.

From 1933 to 1947 Koh Tao was used to jail political prisoners of the Bowaradech Uprising. Many were transferred from Koh Tarutao to Koh Tao by reason of its isolated location in the middle of the Gulf of Thailand.

The community on Koh Tao first settled when the villagers from Koh Samui and Koh Pha Ngan immigrated in 1947 to fish and to harvest coconuts on this virgin land. During the past ten Koh Tao became of the natural beauty, marine life, coral reefs, and tropical beaches, one of the major dive sites of South East Asia.

At Jamahkiri Resort and Spa guests can select beautiful Deluxe Rooms from our seaside hotel, delightfully appointed with pink flowers flowing down to the blue waters of the gulf of Thailand. Or, our unique pavilions individually designed and decorated with comfort and elegance in mind.

Our resort offers boundless ocean views and the comfort, the architecture of the resort combines space, color, and natural light with traditional Thai design themes to create a sense of harmony with nature.

THE RESIDENCE POOL VILLA
Welcome to our new villa in front the beach, enjoy your stay with a sea view private villa, all of our villa have a private pool, 3 bedrooms see view, 3 bathroom, 1 living room with kitchen. From our villa you can acces to the beach in one minute, each villa can be sell for 2 person, 4 person or 6 person and you can put one more extra bed in the living room.

ROYAL SUITE
Occupying 220 square meters, located on our hotel wing’s top floor, 2 well appointed bedrooms (1 king size and 1 twin) with two bathrooms, one with a heart shaped Jacuzzi, both bathrooms have a separate shower.

Opening to it’s own large private terrace with stunning uninterrupted sea views, the incredibly spacious living room is sure to impress, complete with a kitchen, long corner sofas, 50″ flat screen television, computer with free internet access and decorated with genuine Thai antiques, and sculptures by French artist Yann Torchet.

DELUXE PAVILION
All our individual deluxe pavilions have been decorated and designed to offer privacy and elegance to our guests. Couples will love the king size bed. The balcony offers a large view over the sea. The rooms include fully stocked mini-bar, air-conditioning, satellite television and DVD player. No extra bed is permitted in our Deluxe Pavilions due to to the space restrictions.

HAPPY HOUR
Whether it’s enjoying a refreshing cocktail around the pool (Daily Happy Hour from 5pm to 9pm on all cocktails), or a delicious meal at the restaurant, it would be difficult to find a more perfect place to be.

RESTAURANT 
The first thing you will see from our restaurant is the endless view with the islands of Koh Pha Ngan, Koh Samui and Ang Thong Marine Park. Jamahkiri restaurant has become the ultimate lunch and dining experience on Koh Tao. Let our chef indulge your

senses, using superb international and classic Thai cuisine. After your meal, why not relax with one of our delicious cocktails at our bar and sit admiring the many pieces of Asian art displayed all around. Jamahkiri restaurant also has the only in-house purpose built and fitted bakery in Koh Tao, baking every day fresh bread and pastries for our guests.

POOL BAR
Located at our swimming pool and sharing the same spectacular views over Thian Og Bay and the Gulf of Thailand. Our pool is open from 9am to 9pm, the Lunch Menu is served at a comfortable covered seating area next to the bar, facing the pool.

Guests can also enjoy a refreshing beverage, cocktail or ice cream while they use the free WiFi available throughout this area, read a book, chat or simply relax by the pool. Daili Happy Hour from 5pm to 9pm on all cocktails!

SPA & WELLNESS
Walk down the stairway and it’s like walking into a wonderland. The only sounds you can hear are the calling of the birds and the tranquil water features that run through the spa. And if you want to go to heaven for three hours, we recommend the Jamahkiri package for just 1,950 Baht.

Sculpted around a giant rock, the steam room is the perfect place to begin the treatment, cleansing the body and clearing the sinuses for total invigoration. Try the aloe vera body wrap which envelopes you in a nourishing cream that is hand picked from the fertile garden. Say goodbye to tension and stress with a facial massage and deep cleansing facial mask in our garden area at the centre of the spa.

Then, for total relaxation, a traditional Thai massage in our air conditioned treatment room, sumptuously decorated with elaborate art and deep soothing colours, instantly creating a relaxed mood to get the most out of this divine experience.

ALOE VERA BODY WRAP
A relaxing treatment in the massage sala where we apply fresh aloe vera to your whole body, then we wrap you in a cotton sheet for 20 mins to let the aloe revitalize your skin.

TRADITIONAL THAI MASSAGE
An ancient traditional art of applying pressure onto points of your body and manipulating muscles, Energy and flexibility are brought back into your body, extraordinary body and mind.

DIVING
Whether you are trying diving for the first time, or a seasoned explorer of the deep, the Jamahkiri Diving Club provides the greatest diving experiences on Koh Tao. We teach a wide range of courses on an exclusive basis; 2 students per instructor. This ensures that you will have the time necessary to thrive underwater, as well as have more time on your dives to explore the beautiful dive sites of Koh Tao.

Fun divers will enjoy offset dive times departing directly from the Jamahkiri Resort & Spa to better enjoy the abundant marine life on uncrowded dive sites. Our group sizes are limited to 4 divers per divemaster, and we never mix divers of differing abilities.

Divers with low gas consumption will be happy to learn that we dive up to an hour at a time, and enriched air is available to facilitate this. Heavier breathers can increase their dive time either by learning effective breathing techniques in the Peak Performance Buoyancy course, or by using larger tanks, which we also have available for rent.

DISCOVER SCUBA
Discover Scuba Diving is a great option for new divers short on time or not sure that diving is for them. We begin with a morning poolside theory session, where the basics of pressure, air space equalization, equipment, communication and respect of the underwater environment are explained with the aid of your Discover Scuba Diving manual.

This is then put into practice in our majestically appointed swimming pool where you will have plenty of time to feel at ease, and learn to master basic skills under the watchful eye of your instructor.

Following lunch, our boat will take you and your instructor to a beautiful dive site around Koh Tao. Dives typically last between 30 minutes to an hour depending on one’s gas consumption, and never surpass 12 meters depth.

In addition to the usual reef fish and hard coral, it is possible to see stingrays, batfish, moray eels, turtles and barracudas! After your dive, we return to the dive boat for refreshments and relaxation. Depending on how you feel, we can either drop you off at Jamahkiri, or head to a different site for more fun and fish!

Though Discover Scuba Diving graduates are not issued with a certification, they do walk away with great memories, and their manual also serves as a logbook. Both the pool session and first dive can count towards certification as a Scuba or Open Water Diver (certain conditions apply).

Please note that regulations prohibit the use of underwater imaging devices by participants and professionals during Discover Scuba Diving and subsequent dives. It is possible to have your memories preserved by a professional photographer. Additional fees apply.

BUBBLEMAKER
Bubblemaker is a program tailored to children ages 8 and 9 which allows them to get their feet wet, literally! While children this age are still too young to dive to significant depths, they can still get familiar with the equipment and rules of scuba diving.

Their instructor will explain what each piece of equipment is, how to use it safely, and what to do if anything happens. When in the pool, they get to swim and experience the incredible feeling of breathing underwater for the first time! They will be excited to join you in the sea in a year or two!

ECO RESORT
Koh Tao is a small and isolated island with very limited government services. This has made the running of a luxury resort and spa an especially challenging undertaking. Rising to this task we have developed several systems to ensure our guests of an exclusive and luxurious stay at Jamahkiri.

We also focus on nature, and doing all our possible to minimise impacts on the environment, we have ecological compatible infrastructures, Eco-conscience, we contribute for sustainable development.

• Regularly organise sea front and road clean up.
• Selective sorting for recycling is also our priority since many years.
• Reuse paper for drafts and faxes is applied by all departments.
• On site use of “BioTech” Septic tanks, the effluent at the end of the filtration process is reused for the garden.
• Operating a Desalination plant that allows us not to use the groundwater resources, which are very limited on Koh Tao, and to provide bacterial free water in all our Rooms and Pavilions for staff and guests.
• Using heat pump in the hotel wing to provide hot water in all the deluxe rooms, reducing considerably electricity consumption.
• Using Solar energy panels for hot water in every Pavilion, Spa and the Kitchen.
• We use energy saving bulbs and led lights in most areas.
• Energy saving switches are placed in every guest rooms.
