Origami Wall
In celebration and the refreshing of the hotel lobby in 2019, Kengo Kuma has designed a huge soft glowing “Origami” in the central Atrium as a reception wall. This object of light becomes a new landmark for the hotel guests and illuminates the entire atrium space used for art exhibitions and events.
Based on a lightweight suspension structure made of acrylic plates and metal frames to maximize the light transmission, Kengo Kuma applied a translucent synthetic textile with hand-paper-like texture called Tyvek, and created a screen of light with organic texture and shades.
Eco-Friendly by Design
One of Beijing’s first environmentally conscious buildings, The Opposite House takes advantage of natural light and features locally sourced reclaimed materials throughout, such as the hardwood floors. Check-in and check-out is purposefully paperless and we hope you’ll explore the city using our custom bamboo bicycles.
Making Responsible Choices
We are always seeking out new ways to recycle and minimise waste. Our team has shifted to using more biodegradable materials for items such as garbage bags, while all leftover soaps are donated to Soap Cycling, an organisation which works with WASH charities across Asia to recycle and redistribute soap to underprivileged communities who need it most.

The Penthouse blends minimalist style with sumptuous comfort over two expansive floors and a large rooftop terrace.
Shallow reflecting pools connect the indoor and outdoor spaces and natural light flows seamlessly through the living, dining and bedroom areas. You’ll find the perfect settting for relaxing or entertaining in this serene oasis of wood, stone and glass.
Suite 115
In Suite 115’s bright and spacious open-plan layout, you’ll feel a deep sense of zen. The generous living, dining and bedroom areas are outfitted in the understated style of an artist’s designer loft, with plush daybeds and a private balcony or personal Jacuzzi.
Suite 95
Architect Kengo Kuma’s contemporary design comes to life in Suite 95. Sleek lines and earthy tones create a serene oasis high above Beijing. This chic abode has a cosy dining area, our signature timber furnishings and plenty of sunlight. Two of the suites come with a private balcony and daybed for elevated lounging.

Jing Yaa Tang showcases the country’s distinctive regional cuisines in a striking theatrical setting. Part chef and part poet, Chef Li Dong’s mastery of Peking Duck and reimagined classics have received Michelin-star recognition.
You’ll find thought-provoking menus and seasonal specialities, inspired by traditional Chinese cooking and the local ingredients Chef Li discovers on his travels throughout the provinces.

Our inaugural art programme ‘Encounter Across Cultures: Seeds of Life’ explores the interconnectedness of local and global cultures through art. Each House’s sense of place and individuality is brought to life through immersive art experiences by Swiss video artist Katja Loher.
Inspired by the Chinese Five Elements: wood, fire, earth, metal and water – as well as collaborations with local creators, each of the four experiential installations uses dance, music and costume to celebrate the elements as a universal connecting force.

The National Art Museum of China (NAMOC) is the only national art museum of plastic arts in China. Starting to be built in 1958, NAMOC, with its title board inscribed by Chairman Mao Zedong, was formally open to the public in 1963. Summer Palace
The largest royal garden in China, the Summer Palace is a park-like imperial retreat spread out over 26 square kilometers (10 square miles).
Once a summer retreat for emperors, this park is still a retreat for tourists, who can relax here or walk around ancient pavilions, mansions, temples, bridges and a huge lake. The Summer Palace was added to the World Heritage List in 1998.
