Join us deep in the heart of the world’s most celebrated wildlife reserves, where the Big Five – the lion, the leopard, the buffalo, the elephant and the rhinoceros – run free on the endless, untamed landscape.

Perched on a series of elevated platforms and walkways, our Lodge sits next to an animal watering hole, where you can watch a family of elephants stop for their morning drink as you sip your own out on your room’s private balcony.

Under the constant protection of local Maasai tribes people, we’ll take you in the bush for an exhilarating game drive, or you can soar high in the sky on a hot-air balloon safari. However you spend your day, our Spa is waiting to help you rehydrate, restore and re-energize for your next adventure. Our only question – where would you like to begin?

PRESIDENTIAL VILLA
Perfect for family vacations, this extra-spacious, thatched-roof villa lets you gather together for a meal prepared by your private chef, spend a lazy day lounging in and around your infinity-edge pool, and recounting the day’s adventures on any one of your private balconies under a vast, star-lit sky.

TWO-BEDROOM VILLA
A living and dining room and an expansive pool deck separate the two bedrooms in these residential-style villas, creating enough privacy for when you need it, as well as plenty of place to come together when you want.

ONE-BEDROOM VILLA
Indoors or out? You won’t have to choose when you stay in these villas, with wall-to-wall windows that open onto elevated terraces and views as far as the eye can see, letting you fall asleep to the soothing sounds of nature or block out the sun for a midday nap.

TERRACE SUITE WATERHOLE VIEW
Ideal for families with two trundle beds in the large, separate living room, these suites let you admire our animal neighbours as you relax on the deck or float in your private pool.

SAVANNAH ROOM WATERHOLE VIEW
Watch as a herd of elephants, baboons, impalas and many other local wildlife stop for a drink at our central watering hole, as you lounge on your room’s private balcony or gaze out the window from your deep soaking tub.

HORIZON ROOM WATERHOLE VIEW
Recline under a thatched roof on your private balcony and enjoy a direct view onto our animal watering hole, where elephants and other wildlife are frequent visitors.

KULA’S RESTAURANT
Fuel up before your morning game drive with a breakfast buffet filled with locally sourced, African-inspired flavours and international favourites, then come back in the evening and take your pick from live cooking stations and hearty dinner dishes, paired with a glass of wine and exotic delicacies for dessert.

BOMA GRILL
Meet us for an authentic African feast around an open-air firepit, where savouring grilled dishes and local flavours coincides with a memorable night immersed in the culture of the Maasai.

MAJI BAR AND TERRACE
Drink in sweeping views of the Serengeti at this all-day outdoor lounge, sipping refreshing cocktails while sharing platters of African tapas, homemade pizzas or fresh salads.

MEETINGS & EVENTS
Unforgettable meetings and events need an unforgettable setting. Our Safari Lodge is tailor-made to help your function succeed, thanks to expert on-the-ground support for travel, flexible venue options and once-in-a-lifetime safari opportunities for your group – all in the very heart of the world’s most celebrated wildlife reserve.

CONSERVATION AND THE COMMUNITY
Four Seasons Safari Lodge is located in one of the planet’s most incredible and precious habitats. We are proud to have been recognized as an award-winning responsible tourism operator and are continually striving to play our part in protecting and preserving the future of the Serengeti National Park and all those connected to it.

Through contributions from every Four Seasons game drive, walking safari, select boutique items and guest donations, the Lodge is able to support a number of community and wildlife projects in and around the Serengeti. For your chance to find out more, or to get involved, join the team at the on-site Discovery Centre during your stay.

PROTECTING WILDLIFE
Four Seasons supports a number of wildlife conservation projects to help protect the magnificent animals that call the Serengeti home. Projects supported include long-term commitments to both the Rhino Conservation Project and Frankfurt Zoological Society’s Serengeti De-Snaring Project.

In 2020, $14,000 was donated to these wildlife conservation projects to ensure the critical work continued at a time where funding was under threat from a severe reduction in travel.

CARE FOR OUR COMMUNITY
To support children from vulnerable circumstances in the surroundings of the Serengeti, the Discovery Centre Fund provides aid and assistance to a Safe House in Mugumu, which provides shelter to girls at risk of female genital mutilation (FGM). In 2020, the Lodge donated $9,000 throughout the year that benefited more than 700 girls who sought refuge in the shelter.

A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE FOR SERENGETI
It is not only through being a responsible tourism operator that Four Seasons looks to protect and preserve the long-term future of the Serengeti, but also through trade with local suppliers and ensuring training and tourism education is available to the talented youth of the local communities.

PLAN YOUR SERENGETI ADVENTURE
Safari means “journey” in Swahili, and Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti represents a once-in-a-lifetime journey for those who wish to see Africa’s stunning wildlife in its natural habitat.

So whether discovering the majesty of the Serengeti by vehicle, foot or air, or savouring the most memorable dining and wellness experiences back at the Lodge, explore the many activities on offer to create a unique Serengeti itinerary that is distinctly yours.

SEVEN DAYS IN SERENGETI
Our Lodge enjoys an ideal location in the heart of the Serengeti National Park. There is an abundance of wildlife viewing to be enjoyed all-year round and access to some of the region’s most famous game drive locations, all within a day.

Take full advantage of the Serengeti’s game drive opportunities while also making time to relax and recharge at the Lodge with a customized seven-day stay.

SEASONS OF THE SERENGETI
As one of our planet’s last intact migrations, the annual movement of wildebeest and other grazing herbivores – more than 2 million animals total – across the Serengeti-Mara ecosystem is one of the most impressive spectacles in the natural world. Our central location in the Serengeti National Park gives you direct access to migration viewing throughout the year.

The never-ending cycle of the migration means that the animals are perpetually on the move in search of food, with local weather and the growth of grass influencing where the migratory herds will be. Depending on your stay’s timing, tailor your itinerary to experience the most striking views of the season.

THE GREEN SEASON | JANUARY – MARCH
After the short November/December rains, marvel at the herds as they converge on the Serengeti’s rich southern plains to graze ahead of the wildebeest calving season that begins in February.

PICTURE TIME | APRIL – MAY
Following the earlier rains, the park is lush and green, making the rich nature and clarity of the air perfect for photography. Snap away as the herds begin heading northward where they are often seen in central Serengeti.

ARID LANDSCAPE | JUNE – JULY
Through lack of rain, the trees and plants begin to lose their colour, providing greater camouflage for big cat predators and keeping the herds on the move. Watch as the dense masses of wildebeest cross the Grumeti River or reach the very north of the park by July’s end.

THE DRY MONTHS | AUGUST – OCTOBER
Observe the herds crossing the Mara River to reach Kenya’s Maasai Mara, where grazing is abundant. As the clouds begin to form once more over Serengeti, herds of wildebeest return across the river into central Serengeti.

THE SHORT RAINS | NOVEMBER – DECEMBER
As the much-needed rains begin, the migration returns southward through the Serengeti National Park. Witness the year-end movement toward the southern plains as the annual cycle concludes, only to begin again.

HALF DAY GAME DRIVE
Join one of our expert driver-guides on a morning or afternoon safari adventure, as they draw from their expert local knowledge to guide you through the Serengeti in search of the many magnificent creatures that roam within it.

FULL DAY GAME DRIVE
Set off on an unforgettable Full day safari around the Serengeti. Depending on the time of year and the wildlife movements, your driver-guide may take you in search of the Great Migration, or to look for the many other fascinating inhabitants that live here. As you will spend the whole day away from the Lodge, we will provide you with a delicious picnic lunch.

FULL DAY NGORONGORO CRATER SAFARI
Set off on a Full day adventure to the world’s largest inactive volcanic caldera, which offers some of the best game-viewing in Africa and the chance to spot an elusive Black Rhino.

You will drive right across the Serengeti Plains, past traditional Maasai villages and then onto the Olduvai Gorge. We can also arrange safaris to the crater that reduce travel times by combining flying and driving – please inquire for more details.

MORU KOPJES, GONG ROCK AND MAASAI ROCK-PAINTING SAFARI
Embark on a three-quarter day safari to the southwest Moru Kopjes area of the Serengeti in the company of our expert driver-guides and one of the Discovery Centre’s resident Maasai.

In addition to the breathtaking scenery and the chance to spot one of the elusive Black Rhinos that inhabit the area, your guides will explain the history and cultural significance of Gong Rock and the Rock Paintings.

SERENGETI BALLOON SAFARI
One of the highlights of any visit to the Serengeti, what better way to take in the stunning landscape than from the air? Wake up early (we’ll have a quick breakfast waiting for you) and take off for a memorable hour-long sunrise Hot Air Balloon flight over the majestic savannah, followed by a Champagne breakfast in the bush.

WALKING SAFARI
Gain a new perspective of the Serengeti on a 90 minute walk through the bush, learning about the finer details you would drive right past in a vehicle.

Led by our Resident Naturalist and accompanied by Maasai guides and armed national park rangers for security, learn all about insects, animal tracks and traditional plant-use, followed by a sunset sundowner cocktail with canapés.

CONNECTED SOULS PHOTO TOUR
Connect with friends and family during a memorable three-day private photo safari in the company of award-winning professional wildlife photographer Paul Joynson-Hicks.

Spend three half-day morning photo safaris in the Serengeti, returning each afternoon with your best shots for content review classes, expert tutorials and photography talks led by Paul back in the Lodge’s Discovery Centre.

SUNSET KOPJE MEDITATION
Deepen your connection with the majestic Serengeti landscape with our signature yogic experience. Join our in-house yogi and follow the Maasai trail to our sunset kopje hilltop, where breathtaking panoramic views of the plains will provide the backdrop for a magical guided meditation.
