Prepare to escape the everyday at our Tudor-with-a-twist manor house, Langshott Manor. More a private house than a hotel, you can expect a wonderfully personalised experience from our attentive house staff – which will start even before you arrive, with a telephone call from our concierge to understand how everything can be ‘just so’.

As soon as the tyres of your car scrunch onto our winding shingle driveway, you will be transported into our bucolic bubble, complete of course, with some unexpected twists.

You need only step onto the drive to be greeted by our team, who will whisk your luggage off to your room whilst you enjoy a guided tour of Lovely Langshott with a glass of chilled locally-produced sparkling wine.

THE HISTORY
The second oldest property in the Alexander Hotel Collection, Langshott Manor’s history dates back to 1580. Our Moat Mews is home to bedrooms and suites named after Henry VIII and his wives are an homage to the incredible history of this country manor house.

Home to many great families over the last 500 years, Langshott Manor played host to Richard Evelyn (who is the brother of the famous diarist, John Evelyn) and his wife during the reign of King Charles II. Our Grade II listed hotel still holds many of its original features including exposed beams, working fireplaces and grand windows.

Fast forward to the 20th century when Langshott Manor was the home of Lord Montague of Brandon. Following Montague, Major Jennings moved in and provided shelter for many evacuees during World War II.

After the war, right up until the 1980s, the manor house laid empty until 1986 when the Noble family joined the Langshott story. Swept away by the charm, history and character that Langshott Manor is known for today, they set about restoring some of the older features of the house and tending to the gardens.

We join this story in October 1997. Langshott became the second property in the AHC family. We have spent the last 20 years lovingly restoring it to its former glory. We’ve built a new restaurant as well as a new wing of bedrooms to create the captivating, historic property you see today.

ROOMS & SUITES
Sink into Egyptian cotton linens and plump pillows, unwind in cosy armchairs with views across our gardens and enjoy the modern flourishes of our Elizabethan luxury accommodation in Surrey near London Gawtick.

Our 22 Rooms and Suites come in all shapes and sizes. From grand and traditional to quaint and cosy, we have the perfect place to rest for everyone – whether you are attending an event, having a romantic break or stopping over before or after a trip via London Gatwick.

THE ANNE BOLEYN SUITE
The Anne Boleyn Suite is located in the first floor of the Moat Mews. Decorated in rich, cream & gold wall coverings the room certainly has a regal air. From the charming entrance foyer to the stunning vaulted ceiling with exposed original beams, the proportions give the Anne Boleyn a charm that is unparalleled.

Complete with beautiful views across the moat, a decorative fireplace and fabulously exotic over-bed drapery this stunning Suite makes the perfect setting for a romantic retreat.

THE HENRY VIII SUITE
The Henry VIII Suite, named of course after the most infamous Henry in history, is located in the Moat Mews. Boasting an ornate four-poster bed, decorative fireplace and a private over-water deck along with a gorgeous free standing tub, it really does have a very special character indeed. Decorated in rich plum and wine tones with lots of velvet and walnut throughout, it has a classic charm alongside modern luxuries.

THE LEEDS SUITE
Named after Leeds Castle, The Leeds Suite is situated on the first floor of the Main House and enjoys views across the gardens. The Leeds Suite is known for not one, but two four posters – both a four-poster bed & a unique four-poster bath.

It is decorated in a luxurious style, with heavy velvet drapes (on both the bed & bath!), richly coloured floral wallpaper and highly polished walnut furniture. Both the main bedroom & bathroom are reached via the reception area of the Suite, which lends a sense of space and grandeur to the room.

ATTIC SUITE
Our Spacious Attic Suites are lovely, large rooms with separate dining areas and lounge areas in the room. Both of our Spacious Suites are in the Mews and are decorated in bright and botanical prints and colours, to celebrate the wonderful gardens of Surrey.

SPLENDID SUITE
Our Splendid Suites are split between the Moat & Garden Mews and all enjoy outside space. Our Garden Suites have pretty private patios, perfect for morning coffees & pastries, whilst our Moat suite enjoys an over-water terrace which makes a beautiful spot for a pre-supper drink. They are ideal for longer stays and packed full of charm and character.
