The Beverley Arms first opened its doors in 1794. Originally an important meeting place for local farmers and businessmen to conduct business, every inch of this landmark building has been lovingly restored, balancing the need to preserve historic features with the desire to offer a contemporary experience.

Packed with character with a beautiful pewter bar and lounges leading to an orangery restaurant plus a large heated outdoor space for eating al fresco, The Beverley Arms provides a luxurious experience in the Georgian Quarter of Beverley opposite St Mary’s Church and close to the Westwood and Beverley racecourse.

Our bedrooms provide a quiet haven from the bustling town and are a perfect blend of beautiful original features and modern designs to create a totally unique space. Stylish and sophisticated with a depth of character and the most comfortable beds for a great night’s sleep – these rooms really are a cut above.

When it comes to food, our kitchen team are well known locally for their seafood dishes from the Yorkshire coast and unusual and tempting specials. Two private dining rooms provide the perfect setting for special meals or meetings. From mid-morning brunch to afternoon tea, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

FEATURE ROOM
We’re just a little bit proud of our Feature Rooms, the best in the house. All with beautiful original features cloaked in complete modern luxury. Stylish and sophisticated with a depth of character.

With sofas for a daydream, and huge bay windows to gaze out at beautiful Beverley. As well as large beds for a dreamy night’s sleep and a generous bathroom to soak in and feel refreshed.

We also like to go beyond what our guests would expect when they stay with us. That’s why every room comes with a few little extras such as deliciously crumbly biscuits and fresh milk for a proper cup of tea.

DISCOVER BEVERLEY
Historical and beautiful the bustling market town square of Beverley is a place to discover from the grand buildings of St Mary’s Church, North Bar to the sprawling spectacular surrounding countryside.

Head to the iconic racecourse for a day of bubbles, flutters and winning success. Enjoy the change of scenery and explore some of our favourite places and best things to do in the area.

BEVERLEY MINSTER
The Minster has been a place of Christian worship for more than 1,500 years but, as a place of sanctuary, dates as far back as the 8th century when a monastery occupied the church’s location. Three different styles of Gothic architecture have played a part in its evolution. Step inside and marvel at the impressive stone carvings and stained glass.

BEVERLEY RACECOURSE
Maybe you fancy doubling your money? Experience the excitement of a flutter at Beverley Racecourse. This racecourse has been a feature of the town for more than 300 years and has undergone a variety of modernisations to offer high-quality horseracing events. Dress up and sip some bubbles for a fun day out at the races.

ST MARY’S CHURCH
Just across the road, you will find St Mary’s Church, built in the 12th century. Step inside to marvel at some impressive sights including the carving of the March Hare said to have inspired Lewis Carol’s Alice in Wonderland, and the ceiling of Kings painted in 1446 and representing the Kings of England before that time.

FLEMINGATE SHOPPING CENTRE
If you’re looking to shop as well as explore, head for Flemingate Beverley. This shopping centre is close to the Minster and features a range of big-name brands. You can round off the day with a movie at the cinema in the centre, and if you need to take time out from all that shopping, there are plenty of places to go for a little stop off.

BEVERLEY WESTWOOD
A vast expanse of open free land with plenty of walking routes through the rolling pasture making for a great few hours out in the countryside, also you’ll find great views of Beverley spires.

Enjoy the variety of wildflower beds, woodlands and admire from a distance the Beverley cows. Keep an eye out for the Black Mill, an iconic part of the landscape. All of this is just a short walk outside of the centre of town.

NORTH BAR
The renowned 15th century North Bar separates the North Bar Within, and North Bar Without and is one of the region’s, and Beverley’s, most beloved landmarks. During the English Civil War, King Charles I and his sons stayed at North Bar House while trying to convince John Hotham to surrender Kingston-Upon-Thames.

BISHOP BURTON
Take a trip to this small, quaint village for a morning or afternoon of exploring. Hit the slower pace of life and enjoy the wander around this historical village – it’s even been mentioned in the Domesday Book. There’s also the duck pond in the centre, a stretch of water providing an excellent sight of wildlife and a spot for capturing the essence of Bishop Burton.

BEVERLEY GOLF COURSE
Beverley and East Riding Golf Club formed in 1889 – making it the oldest inland club in Yorkshire. The 18-hole course is one of Yorkshire’s most excellent and natural layouts, enjoying outstanding views of the town and surrounding countryside. Visitors are welcome at all times as the course is playable and in fine condition throughout the year.
